Chitownrecordbangers.com was founded by JJ Liwanag (DJ Rebel 1), and Khek Phonprasit (DJ Out A Style). Feeling the need to express their music beyond the club scene, they decided to tap into the internet radio demographic. Starting with 7 listeners in Oct. 2007, they decided to represent the independent artists of Chicago.

A little after a month they decided to help out their friends in the entertainment industry by interviewing them and having their friends listen. Slowly but surely with the help of the internet, listeners from other countries started tuning in and really helped CRB, their guest DJ's, and guest musicians gain the recognition they deserve. In March of 2008, they finally reached a point where they worked with some of the most talented artists Chicago has to offer such as, ILL Eagle the MC, Kinki Notti, Franco De Leon, Aerias, Malabar Front, and C4. They have had guest DJ's that rule the Chicago scene with names like, DJ Boy Wonder, Chris Mix Calip, DJ OPM & Beryl Turner, DJ Short Round (milwaukee, wi), Main Squeeze Ent.
